I am currently a Hundred-Talents-Plan Professor in the Department of Engineering Mechanics at Zhejiang University, China. Prior to joining Zhejiang University, I worked at the Johns Hopkins University and Northwestern University as a postdoc associate. I obtained my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland-College Park under the supervision of Prof. Teng Li. During my Ph.D. study, I also visited Prof. Zhigang Suo's group at Harvard University as a visiting Ph.D. fellow.
My research goal is to understand and design advanced materials and structures through integrated theoretical, computational, and experimental approaches. The main focus is on the underlying physics and mechanics of soft materials, energy materials, bio-materials and their applications in advanced technologies such as energy storage, stretchable electronics, soft robotics, and advanced manufacturing.
